SEMH Secondary Teacher

Hazel Tree Education are supporting a Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) Secondary School in Wigan in their search for a general teacher to deliver learning across the curriculum, key stages 3 and 4.

This is a full-time role, long-term basis, Monday- Friday.

The school caters for young people with SEMH providing care and education. Aiming to support students with a wide range of learning activities which are responsive to each learning style and individual needs.

The school most recent Oftsed inspection stated “The curriculum is broad and ambitious and allows pupils to study a wide range of subjects. The school has also ensured that the curriculum allows pupils, who may have significant gaps in their knowledge, to catch up quickly. This ensures that pupils achieve nationally recognised qualifications, including GCSEs and vocational awards.”

Applicants must have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS and experience teaching in UK schools
  • The ability to track, monitor and report on pupils’ progress
  • A resilient nature, excellent communication skills and a creative, inspirational approach to classroom practice
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Two references including most recent employer
  • Right to work in the UK
  • A clear Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
