Hazel Tree Education are supporting a SEMH secondary school in Wigan in their search for a Key Stage 3 and 4 Teacher.
Full-time, long-term basis, Monday- Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, September start.
The secondary school caters for with a range of complex needs preparing young people for the future and helps them to develop the skills and qualities they will need to make a positive contribution to the community.
The school’s most recent Ofsted report remarks that the school ‘provides a broad curriculum that is under regular review. You adapt it well to pupils’ needs and interests and individualise it superbly. Careers guidance is good, with activities such as visits to universities and colleges and the use of alternative provision which lead to apprenticeships and employment’.
Applicants must have:
- A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS and experience teaching in UK schools
- The ability to track, monitor and report on pupils’ progress
- A resilient nature, excellent communication skills and a creative, inspirational approach to classroom practice
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Two references including most recent employer
- Right to work in the UK
- A clear DBS on the Update Service
