Hazel Tree Education are currently supporting a primary school in Wigan in their search for Cover Supervisors on a flexible and short-term basis. In this Ofsted rated “Good” School, all pupils, including those with SEND, achieve well in all subjects. Teachers expect the best of pupils and in return students respond positively by behaving well, working hard and trying their best.

The Cover Supervisor position entails supporting students aged 4-11 across a variety of subjects in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You will be tasked with delivering the lessons set by the class teacher and ensuring that students stay on task. You will not be expected to undertake any planning or marking, so this is a great opportunity for someone who is considering a career in teaching.

Working hours: Mon-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm.

What we’re looking for:

  • A recognised qualification in Teaching and Learning or Childcare or experience working with children in a formal setting e.g. school, residential, sports coaching.
  • An interest in supporting children with additional needs.
  • A resilient, pro-active nature with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • A confident individual equipped to manage challenging behaviours and situations.

Successful candidates must have:

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • At least two references including most recent/current employer.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy with excellent written and verbal communication.
