Hazel Tree Education are supporting a SEN high school and college in Wigan in their search for a Teacher.

Full-time, Monday- Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, September start.

This mixed special school and sixth form for learners aged 11–19 with a wide range of special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The school has an Outstanding Ofsted rating and is part of a federation that is commitment to personalised, meaningful learning that prepares young people for life beyond education.

Key subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, ICT, PSHE, PE, Geography, History, plus options such as Art, Design & Technology and Functional Skills. The emphasis is on building literacy and numeracy, confidence, and essential subject knowledge — but delivered in ways that suit each learner’s pace and profile.

Applicants must have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE with QTS and experience teaching in UK schools
  • The ability to track, monitor and report on pupils’ progress
  • A resilient nature, excellent communication skills and a creative, inspirational approach to classroom practice
  • Two references including most recent employer
  • Right to work in the UK
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update service or be willing to obtain one

  • Competitive rates of pay – all pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. Pay rates dependent on experience.
