Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) – SEN/SEMH Support
Location: Warrington
Pay: £95 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time, temporary ongoing
Hazel Tree Education are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a school setting in Warrington. This is a full-time role requiring consistency, patience, and a strong commitment to building positive relationships with young people.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience working with pupils with SEN/SEMH needs and a genuine interest in supporting pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to engage in learning.
An interest in sport and/or music would be highly advantageous, as these areas are often used to build engagement, trust, and positive interaction with the pupil.
The successful candidate will need to build a strong, consistent and trusted relationship with a pupil who has historically responded well to male staff. Experience in engaging pupils with SEMH needs is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs
- Support engagement in learning and positive behaviour strategies
- Build a consistent, trusting relationship with the pupil
- Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals
- Use tailored approaches to support emotional regulation and engagement
- Encourage positive social interaction and independence
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH/SEN needs is essential
- Calm, patient and consistent approach
- Ability to build strong professional relationships
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
