Learning Support Assistant

Hazel Tree is delighted to be recruiting for a full time permanent Learning Support Assistant on behalf of our client, an innovative and inclusive educational setting committed to supporting every learner’s individual journey.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support learning and teaching across the curriculum, with a particular focus on pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Working closely with teaching staff, you will play a key role in helping pupils achieve their full potential by providing academic, emotional, behavioural, and welfare support within a nurturing and student-centred environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support learning and teaching activities across the curriculum, particularly for pupils with SEND.
• Assist in the planning, delivery, and review of learning programmes for individual pupils and small groups.
• Provide support for pupils’ health, safety, welfare, and emotional and behavioural development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to prepare and deliver learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.
• Lead learning activities for individuals, small groups, and, where appropriate, whole classes across all year groups.
• Monitor, assess, record, and report on pupils’ achievement, progress, and development.
• Ensure SEND support is delivered in line with the school’s Self-Directed Learning Philosophy.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.

The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting young people, committed to inclusive education, and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families. You will be proactive, adaptable, and motivated to make a meaningful difference in the educational experience of every learner.

It is essential that you hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain a new one.
