Behaviour Support Assistant

Hazel Tree Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a student within a secondary school setting in Wigan.

This is a full-time role starting ASAP and would suit someone who is strong, flexible, patient, and willing to learn. The successful candidate will be supporting a student who displays challenging behaviour, therefore confidence, consistency, and a calm approach are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a secondary-aged student
• Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
• Building positive relationships and encouraging engagement in learning
• Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
• Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• Previous experience supporting children or young people is desirable
• Strong behaviour management skills
• A flexible and proactive attitude
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Commitment to supporting students with additional needs
