Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary School near Leigh

Hazel Tree Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school near Leigh to recruit a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will have previous HLTA experience and a strong understanding of supporting teaching and learning across the primary age range. Flexibility is essential, as the role will involve working across a variety of year groups and supporting different classes as required.

This position would particularly suit someone who is considering a future career in teaching and would like to gain further classroom experience in a supportive school environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across multiple year groups
  • Delivering planned lessons and activities in the absence of the class teacher
  • Working with small groups and whole classes to support pupil progress
  • Assisting teachers with planning, preparation and classroom organisation
  • Helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

  • Previous HLTA experience in a primary school setting
  • A proactive, flexible and positive approach to supporting pupils and staff
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service
  • The ability to provide a minimum of two professional references
