SEND Teacher

Hazel Tree Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join a supportive specialist school in Preston. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible and offers the opportunity to move from a temporary contract into a permanent role.

The school supports students with a wide range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, PMLD, and SEMH. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating an inclusive, structured, and supportive learning environment where pupils can develop both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils
• Support students with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, PMLD, and SEMH
• Work closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to support student development
• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Monitor and track student progress, adapting strategies where necessary
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs is highly desirable
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
• A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach
• A commitment to supporting students with complex and diverse needs
