Teaching Assistant

Hazel Tree Education are currently supporting a mainstream Primary school in Atherton, who are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Year 5.

This ‘Good’ Ofsted rated school is well-regarded in the local area, the most recent inspection stated ‘Pupils feel happy and safe in school. Leaders have designed an ambitious, exciting curriculum for pupils, including for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).’

The school is looking for an experience SEN teaching assistant required to work with a Year 5 student with complex needs. An aspect of personal care will also be involved in this role.

This role is temporary until the end of the school year.

Working Hours- Monday- Friday 8:30am- 15:30pm

What we’re looking for:

• A recognised qualification in Teaching and Learning or Childcare or experience working with children in a formal setting e.g school, residential, sports coaching.
• A resilient, pro-active nature with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Knowledge and understanding of supporting learners with SEN.

Successful candidates must have:

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update service or be willing to purchase one at a cost of £60.50
• At least two references including most recent/current employer.
• Right to work in the UK.
• A good standard of literacy and numeracy with excellent written and verbal communication.
