Hazel Tree Education is recruiting experienced Team Leaders to support the day-to-day running of residential and supported living services for children and young people.
This is a leadership role within a care environment, supporting staff teams and ensuring high-quality, safe, and consistent care is delivered at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Service Manager with the daily running of the home
- Lead shifts and provide clear direction to staff teams
- Ensure a safe, positive, and well-managed environment for young people and staff
- Supervise, support, and develop staff through coaching and performance feedback
- Oversee safeguarding practice and promote a strong safeguarding culture
- Manage on-call responsibilities, including welfare checks and emergency support
- Monitor and maintain high standards of record keeping, reporting, and compliance
- Review and check documentation, reports, and timesheets for accuracy
- Support risk assessments and promote effective risk management practices
- Carry out audits, checks, and quality assurance of the home
- Liaise with external professionals and contribute to multi-agency working
- Support young people directly through 1:1 work and relationship building
- Promote inclusion, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for young people
- Address and challenge poor practice in a professional and constructive way
- Support staff wellbeing and development, including identifying training needs
- Ensure policies and procedures are consistently followed
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in residential childcare or supported living settings
- Strong leadership and shift management skills
- It is essential that you hold a valid driving licence, have access to your own vehicle and have business insurance.
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and support staff teams
- Confident in safeguarding, risk management, and compliance
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Calm, professional approach to conflict and problem-solving
- Commitment to improving outcomes for young people
- You must hold an enhanced DBS that is on the update service for child & adult, or be willing to obtain a new one.
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent qualification)
