As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both teaching staff and students throughout their learning journey. You will provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs across a range of subjects.

  • Maths
  • English
  • Media
  • Film
  • Photography
  • Music

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs
  • Assist teaching staff during lessons and practical activities
  • Help students engage with learning and build confidence within the classroom
  • Support students’ personal development and independent learning skills
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
  • Knowledge or background in one or more of the listed subjects (Maths, English, Media, Film, Photography, Music)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability
  • Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable

All candidates must have an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one prior to employment.

As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a 4-day trial at the college between April and June. This allows both the candidate and the college to ensure the role is the right fit. Following a successful trial, a permanent position will be offered with a September start.
