Hazel Tree Education is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join a welcoming and supportive school in Wigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled educator who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, tailored learning experiences that support the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils. You will work collaboratively with support staff and other professionals to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports individual learning styles
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to support pupil development
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary
- Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and encourage confidence and independence
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs is highly desirable
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain a new one
