Hazel Tree Education is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate qualified teacher with QTS to join a supportive and well-established SEND school in Preston. This is a full-time, permanent position with an immediate start available, offering an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
The successful candidate will be committed to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil can achieve their full potential. You will work as part of a supportive team, delivering tailored lessons and strategies to meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of pupils with SEND
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary
- Contribute to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND or a strong passion for working in specialist settings
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- An enhanced DBS on the update service
